Redundancy
- There are multiple fiber strands coming into the data center to ensure redundant primary connection
- There is a wireless secondary connection into the data center to ensure Internet connectivity in the event the fiber cable is damaged.
- All routers and switches have dual to quad power supplies and redundancy management blades and spare units in place for quick change.
- All Internet links are limited to 60% utilization. This provides guaranteed excess capacity in the data center to back up link failure.
Peering:
When a customer colocates in our space they have the advantage of peering with almost 1000 different ISP peers. This means the speed of delivery to your client is done faster with the least number of hops.
Latency
The fiber connection to the backbone through tier 1 Telco Enterprise class routers and switches ensures the lowest latency of the network. We measure and provide both one-way and round trip latency figure to demonstrate equal performance in both directions.
Power
- Primary Power: Primary power is supplied by the utility company – Enmax.
- Uninterrupted UPS Power: Customers can install their own UPS system into their rack if the unit meets the necessary requirements. We can provide a rack mountable UPS if needed.
- Back-up Power: The back-up power is provided by the stand-by power generators. Two units with total generating capacity of 150 KW 3 Phase are connected to the system through power transfer switchgear. In the event of a utility power failure, the automatic start and transfer equipment brings the back-up generator(s) online and transfers the load to it. Onsite fuel storage for the units is sufficient to last for four days operating at full load. The fuel supply depot is located within 5 minutes drive from the data center and if needed an additional supply can be replenished during the worst weather conditions.
Temperature Control
Air Conditioning
Each data room is designed at RLU capacity of 6150 Btu/hr. This capacity ensures that 100% of the heat generated within the racks by the consumption of power is removed. Each room is equipped with Mitsubishi Mr. Slim 30,000 Btu units, the number depending upon the designed requirements. The modular air conditioning units approach provide maximum flexibility to maintain required temperature
Air Flow in the Cabinets
All cabinets are connected to the air circulating system. Conditioned air is pumped to the bottom of each cabinet to evenly cool the cabinet. This system has the provisions of circulating outside air in the event of catastrophic failure of all air conditioning units. The air circulating system is designed for 45 complete room air changes per hour. This ensures the equipment performance is maintained and free from over-heating.
Data Room Access:
To access the data rooms, all individuals must pass through the following points of authentication:
